Almanya Milli Takımı ve Fenerbahçe'nin unutulmaz kalecilerinden Toni Schumacher, Mesut Özil'in Alman Milli Takımı'nı seçmesine sevindiğini belirterek, "Ama Türkler Mesut'a kızmamalılar" dedi.

Antalya’nın Manavgat ilçesinde tatil yapan Schumacher, gazetecilere Türk futbolu ile ilgili değerlendirmelerde bulundu. Real Madrid ve Alman Milli Takımında oynayan Mesut Özil’e övgüler yağdıran Schumacher, "Mesut, Türk asıllı bir futbolcu ama Almanya’da doğmuş. Almanya adına oynamaktan yana bir karar vermiş. Buna sevindim. Ama Türkler Mesut’a kızmamalılar. En güzeli böyle kaliteli bir futbolcunun oyununu seyretmek" diye konuştu.

Özil’in Türkiye ya da Almanya adına oynamasının çok önemi olmadığını belirten Schumacher, "Çok kaliteli bir futbolcu, izleyip görmek ve kutlamak lazım. Werder Bremen’den sonra Real Madrid forması giyiyor.
Kabul etmek lazım ki çok büyük bir kariyere ulaşmış" değerlendirmesinde bulundu.

Türk Milli Takımı’nın Almanya ve Azerbaycan yenilgileriyle ilgili soru üzerine Schumacher, Guus Hiddink’in çok iyi bir teknik direktör olduğunu vurguladı. Türk Milli Takımı’nın daha iyi oynayabileceğini belirten Schumacher, "Guus Hiddink’in ne istediğini anlamak için zamana ihtiyaç var. İnanıyorum ki iyi yoldalar. Bir sonraki turnuvalarda neler yapacaklarını bekleyip görmek lazım" dedi.

ESKİ TAKIM ARKADAŞINA DESTEK
Yıllarca file bekçiliği yaptığı takımı Fenerbahçe ile ilgili de açıklamada bulunan Toni Schumacher, Fenerbahçe ve Aykut Kocaman’ı yakından takip ettiğini söyledi. Eski takım arkadaşı Fenerbahçe Teknik Direktörü Aykut Kocaman’a destek veren Schumacher, şöyle konuştu:
"Aykut’un antrenör olarak Fenerbahçe’de çok zor bir sorumluluğu var. Fenerbahçe bir sürü kişiyle konuşuyor, asıl problem olan da bu zaten. Ama düşünüyorum ki Aykut çok iyi bir antrenör. Onun çalışabilmesine de müsaade etmek lazım. Eğer çalışmasına, işine karışmazlarsa çok büyük başarılara imza atacağına inanıyorum."
